She stood in the water until it made sense again.
During one of the hardest years of my life, the ocean became my reset: cold, indifferent and somehow exactly what I needed. the weight of water came from those moments: the way the current forces your hand open whether you're ready or not, the strange pleasure of something that doesn't care about your grief but holds you anyway.
The red anger cuts through the blue like something that refuses to be submerged. The charcoal marks float like the grief you carry but can’t quite let go of yet. The deeper teal pools feel like the parts of yourself you're only beginning to find again.
This is a painting about surviving and discovering yourself, quietly. Again and again.
