Artist, mother & eternal explorer

I've been creative my whole life: photography GCSE’s, theatre throughout high school, playing piano, writing moody teenage poetry and studying fashion design at uni. Creativity has always been how I make sense of the world and how I express myself.

Painting found me later, during a difficult period in my life. What began as a way to fill the silence and process what I was going through slowly became something much bigger: a way back to myself.

I'm now a Geelong-based artist working predominantly in oils, inspired by the landscapes of regional Victoria (coastlines are my obsession). These are the places I return to with my children to explore, reset and simply be.

I'm endlessly distracted by light and movement: the twinkle of the sun across water, a bush moving in the wind, shifting skies and the seemingly endless shades of green in the landscape. I paint intuitively, using expressive brushwork, colour and texture to capture not only what I see, but how being in a place feels to me.

There is something special about being in nature that gets me out of my head. It makes me feel small in the best possible way. My recent paintings explore that space between observation and feeling: exaggerating colour and trying to hold onto those fleeting moments that make me stop and think, is this real?

I'm still exploring. Still experimenting. Still learning to look.
